3rd Annual PS3 Ronald A. Gill Jr. Motorcycle Run

[ 2012 | 2011 | 2010 | 2009 ]

Ronnie’s 3rd annual motorcycle ride was the best ride we have had so far. The weather was a perfect 65 degrees and there was plenty of sunshine. We had more than 375 registered riders this year, which is more than the first two years.

The ride took us from Ronnie’s high school to RI Veterans Cemetery where a brief and beautiful memorial service was held. The words that were spoken were very heartfelt.

We left the cemetery and rode down to Scarborough Beach in Narragansett, RI. We stopped for some refreshments and a much needed bathroom break. After the quick stop, we headed to Cranston Country Club for an amazing dinner and some good music. Gracie entertained everyone by singing on the microphone for quite an extended period of time.

We finished our day with our auction/raffle and were able to raise more than $11,000! That is really awesome and incredible! Since the foundation distributed its first scholarship on March 25, 2007, we have given out $85,000.00 to students that wish to continue their education. Some of these students may not have been able to otherwise fulfill this dream without the support of each and every person who has come to any of Ronnie’s events. Words alone cannot begin to express the gratitude that we have for all of you.

We would also like to thank all of the RI Police Departments that escorted the bikers this year. With this many motorcyclists and a seemingly endless parade of motorcycles, we were without incident.

We hope that you will join us next year for Ronnie’s 4th annual “Ronnie’s Ride” on April 22, 2012. Once again, thank you.
