A message from Ron Sr:
I just wanted to take a few moments to say thanks to all of you who participated in Ronnie’s 1st Annual Motorcycle Run. It was truly an amazing day. I cannot begin to tell each and every one of you how overwhelming the day was and how truly humbled I was with the days events. I would be remiss if I did not say a very special that you to Kenny Buonauito from the RI State Police, each police department on the route, The CVMA, PGR’s, Warrior Brotherhood, all the other groups and each individual rider. Also one very special thanks to Al Danzy who drove his bike all the way from Washington, DC to be a part of this special day.
I wish that we did not have to do these events, but I am ecstatic with the results. The day’s events raised more than $10,000.00 towards Ronnie’s scholarship foundation. This year we will distribute almost $25,000.00 to Rhode Island students and since March 25, 2008, our foundation has given nearly $40,000.00 in scholarships. For this, we are ever so thankful. None of this would be possible without the help of our Board of Director’s. I applaud each and every one of them for their time and efforts. Also, let’s not forget Barbara’s wonderful Ladybug attire. She really did an outstanding job with helping to put this altogether and for keeping it moving.
We do want to let all of the people who participate in all of the things we do in Ronnie’s name, how grateful we all are. In this tough economic climate it is difficult to give your hard earned money to something other than you own personal needs. We truly do understand the sacrifices that are made. Please know that these sacrifices are touching the hearts and minds of the youth of Rhode Island. Your efforts and contributions make it easier for some kids to improve their quality of life and continue their educational process. Although we do not know each and every one of you personally, please know you all have a special place in our hearts.
The video and many pictures are now posted on the website for your viewing pleasure. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any feedback you might have. Next year’s run will be on April 25th, kick stands up at 10:00. Hope to see you then.
